Distribution of Personal Protection Equipment and Supplies for the Prevention of Coronavirus (COVID)

The Corporation purchased and distributed personal protective equipment and supplies (such as gloves, masks, face shields, and disinfectants) to older adults living alone or with another adult, and to those in nursing homes in the municipalities of Bayamón, Caguas , Carolina and San Juan. The objective of this initiative was to protect adults over 65 years of age or older against the Coronavirus (COVID), as they are the population group with the highest risk of suffering from severe disease that will require hospitalization, admission to an intensive care unit, the use of ventilator to breathe, or even die from COVID or its complications, than any other population group. Older adults, especially women, are also one of the poorest or extremely poor subpopulations on the island, which makes it impossible for them to acquire the necessary equipment and supplies for their protection during the pandemic.

You will be asked provided personal protection equipment and supplies to more than 500 older adults. The project was financed with funds from the Coronavirus Emergency Supplemental Fund (CESF) administered by the Department of Justice and own funds.
