Development of a service model for the Correctional Psychiatric Hospital (2005)

A new service model was developed for the Correctional Psychiatric Hospital, which included the creation of two new units: the Crisis Intervention Unit and the Transitional Unit.

Achievement:

The creation of these units was beneficial for the treatment of inmates with acute Mental Health conditions, since said treatment was offered at different levels of intensity and allowed the inmate to move within the HPC according to how they evolved your mental health condition. This decreased the lengthy wait for acute mental health services for inmates in the Correctional Health system.
